Ingredients :
mix some hot milk if required for the runny consistency.
- Avalakki / Atukulu : 1 cup
- Milk : 4 cups
- Jagerry : 1 cup
- Ghee : 1/2 cup
- Cashews : as desired
- Raisins : as desired
- Clean and Wash avalakki twice , drain the water and keep a side for one hour.
- Take a heavy bottomed bowl and get the milk to boil.
- Now add the avalakki to the milk and cook till its soft.
- Now add Jaggery to it and let it cook for few more minutes on a medium flame.
- Make sure, the payasam will not flow out. Mix continuously.
- Now shift the payasam bowl out of the flame and place a small frying pan.
- Pour the ghee into it and fry cashews and raisins on a medium flame till light brown.
- Pour this into the payasam and mix well till the ghee get into it nicely.
- Serve hot or warm or cool. It tastes delicious.
